- Identification of SI Joint Dysfunction Risk Factors
Any notable falls, missteps, awkward lifting or twisting of the pelvis over the course of your lifetime - Discussion of previous fusion surgery involving the lumbar spine (lower back) and all treatments to date
- Observation of uneven leg length, abnormal walking pattern or scoliosis Past pregnancy (female patients)
- New onset of chronic Low Back Pain +/- trauma (possible auto accident) Temporal relationship to post-partum
- Iliac crest bone graft
- Structural abnormalities, scoliosis, etc…
- Inflammatory arthritis
- Review of any previous diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT and X-rays)
PAIN DIAGRAM
- Pain in buttock and posterior thigh
- Usually not midline
- Usually below L5
- At or lateral to PSIS
- Occasional groin pain
- Secondary pain in lateral thigh, groin, and/or lateral calf
