Dr. Goswami Transforms Teacher's Life with LinQ

Elizabeth always loved being in the classroom and was very passionate about teaching. However, for four years, she continued to deal with tremendous hip pain after suffering from an accident. The pain was so severe that it caused her to leave teaching. It was a very tough decision for Elizabeth, but she knew she couldn’t continue to deal with the pain.

Elizabeth tried visiting a neurologist and orthopedic specialist to find some relief, but neither could help her. That’s when she decided to visit Amitabh Goswami, DO, MPH, at California Pain Consultants. Initially, Dr. Goswami performed an SI joint injection to determine if the SI joint was the source of her pain. While this assisted Dr. Goswami in making his diagnosis, it only provided Elizabeth with short-term relief. From there, Elizabeth tried an ablation procedure. However, this, too, only offered temporary relief. That’s when Dr. Goswami recommended the LinQ SI Joint Stabilization System, a minimally invasive procedure that would provide Elizabeth with the long-term relief she needed.

Elizabeth Undergoes the Life-Changing LinQ Procedure

Throughout her years of pain, Elizabeth couldn’t sit or stand for long periods of time and spent most of her days lying on the couch. This caused her muscles to deteriorate, something she is still working on rebuilding. However, after Dr. Goswami performed the LinQ procedure, Elizabeth was finally pain-free for the first time in years.

She can now bend, sit, and stand for long periods of time without any pain. She even went out and watched a baseball game with her husband, something she hadn’t been able to do in years. She is so grateful for the procedure and Dr. Goswami’s help in finally giving her a more permanent solution to her pain. Elizabeth is now looking forward to returning to the classroom and doing the things she loves.

What is the LinQ Procedure for SI Joint Pain?

The LinQ SI Joint Stabilization System is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a small bone allograft implant to stabilize the SI joint. This procedure is completed through a single incision, and most patients are able to go home the same day. In addition, by taking a posterior approach away from large blood vessels and nerves, patients have a lower risk of complications and are typically able to return to their normal activities more quickly.
